| Over two hundred miles from the nearest town, the lodge is nestled in the midst of the biggest Mahogany and Brazil nut tree forest in Amazonia, on the confluence of the Iriri and Bala rivers. The beauty of its surroundings is breathtaking.
Accommodation is comprised of four spacious twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are linked by wooden walkway to the heart of the lodge: the bar and dining area. This cool and airy building is fronted by a veranda with magnificent views over the river: the perfect place for an evening cocktail.
The fishing boats are first class aluminium custom designed crafts of the “Bass Tracker” type. They feature front and rear casting platforms, removeable casting chairs, electric fishing motor as well as a powerful outboard. Refreshments are supplied for each outing.
The head guide, Irmão, has lived in this part of Amazonia all his life. His knowledge of the rainforest and rivers is extraordinary and his contribution adds an extra dimension to your visit. His second in command Zé, was born on the river, a couple of miles upstream from the lodge and has lived here all his 26 years. He has been dubbed “Fishfinder General”
The lodge opened for business in August 2004.
The lodge was conceived, built and is run by Gustavo Dos Reis Filho, better known as Gugu. He is one of Brazil’s best known fishing guides and one of the country’s pioneers of fly-fishing.
