| Why Brazil for bluewater?
Brazil is probably the least known, and ironically, one of the best bluewater destinations in the world.
Reasons for it’s being overlooked are many, but it is certain that North American fishermen, who have pioneered the explosion in bill fish fishing, simply didn’t need to travel this far to find their quarry.
The truth of the matter is that many of the billfish IGFA records have been caught off the coast of Brazil. The best destinations in Brazil are concentrated in the two states north of Rio de Janeiro: Espirito Santo and Bahia.
We have concentrated our efforts on the former for two reasons: quantity and variety of fish, as well as accessibility.
In Espirito Santo, fishing is based in the state capital, Victoria. It is served by daily, scheduled flights from Sao Paulo. Victoria is a very pleasant, calm city. The hotel we have selected is, literally, across the street from the Yacht Club and is a two minute walk from your boats.
The blue water is under an hour out of the harbour and, depending on the time of year, offers exceptional fishing for Mahi Mahi (dolphin fish), sailfish, white marlin and blue marlin.
Whether you wish to fish on fly, gear or both, the quality of fishing is impressive.
